Another 34,000 A Day confronts the staggering scale of displacement caused by natural disasters and climate migration, centering on Portland, Maine as a case study for resilient community design. The project develops a housing prototype that can be rapidly deployed and incrementally adapted, addressing the urgent need for dignified temporary shelter that evolves into permanent neighborhood fabric. Through a system of modular structural frames and infill panels, the design accommodates diverse household configurations while fostering shared outdoor spaces that encourage social cohesion among displaced populations.
