Majlis Park Place explores the intersection of public transit infrastructure and community gathering spaces in the rapidly densifying neighborhoods surrounding New Delhi's metro stations. The project reimagines the station-adjacent urban fabric as a series of interconnected public rooms—drawing on the traditional Indian concept of the majlis, or communal assembly—that mediate between the scale of metropolitan transit and the intimate rhythms of neighborhood life. The design proposes a layered ground plane that accommodates informal commerce, pedestrian movement, and moments of pause within a single cohesive urban gesture.
